Complementary and non-complementary target sequences were used to study the level of specific interaction between the target and the Au-nanoprobes. BCR-ABL fusion positive (100% complementary); BCR and ABL gene sequences were used as controls (50% non-complementary); and a completely unrelated sequence (100% non-complementary) was used as negative control.
