rLOX-PP is biologically active and thermally stable. MC3T3-E1 osteoblasts were grown in 24-well plates until 80 % confluent and then placed in 0.1% BSA medium for 24 hours. Cells were then treated with 1 ng/ml FGF-2 for 24 hours in the presence of 4 μg/ml of rLOX-PP that was either unheated, or pre-heated to 90 °C. Incorporation of [3H] thymidine into DNA was measured by TCA precipitation as described in “Materials and Methods”. Data shown are mean cpm values/well ± S.D (n=3, *p <0.05).
