Experimental apparatus for photoacoustic tomography to image 49-μm and 301-μm-diameter beads. The polystyrene (PS) beads produce an acoustic wave, and the microring resonator is scanned in a circular measurement configuration. The gel containing the PS bead and the microring resonator were immersed in deionized water. The inset shows the transmission spectrum of the microring resonator.
