IRS RNAi did not influence the sucrose sensory sensitivity of (A) high and low pollen-hoarding strain bees and (B) wild type. Sucrose sensitivity was measured as a gustatory response score (GRS). High GRS implies that bees respond with proboscis extension to low concentration of sucrose in H₂O. As established previously, high strain bees generally test higher for GRS than low strain bees [27],[28]. The strain effect is indicated by asterisk and brackets on top of panel A, p<0.05. Bars are means ± s.e. Sample sizes are given inside bars.
