(Right panel) kA is set to a value smaller but very close to kA (kA = 0.6155 = 0.997kA); the fitness evolves to just above the threshold value with relatively few catastrophes. These strategies correspond to the two solid points in the top left plot of Fig. 7. The value of f is 0.75 (red dashed line) and the average fitness is the same in both plots (〈f〉 = 0.652585).
