Although PKA and Akt failed to phosphorylate the GluR1 T840 peptide, significant phosphorylation was detected in assays with p70S6K. Levels show optical density measurements normalized to signals from positive control peptides in the same array containing consensus sites for PKA, Akt, or p70S6K. Note that p70S6K phosphorylation of the peptide is abolished when T840 is replaced with a valine (T840V).
