DA and DOPA augment α-synuclein mediated apoptosis and necrosis. Decreased cell viability (A) induced by DA or DOPA is accompanied by increased apoptosis (B) and necrosis (C). After 24 hr of incubation in the presence of 200 μM DA or DOPA, cells were labeled with Hoechst 33342 and propidium iodide and analyzed by FACS. For each experiment, 1.5-3 × 104 cells were analyzed.
