EC₅₀ and Hill coefficient (n_H) values were derived by fitting the data in Figure 5 and Figure S1 to a Hill equation (see Materials and Methods). Relative efficacies are the maximum values derived from fitting the data and are expressed as a percentage of the maximum value for indole. Values are the mean ± SEM derived from concentration-response data from 5–16 separate oocytes.
