Human cytokine array. The graph shows the relative cytokine intensity for 2 groups of mice (8 animals per group) inoculated with MET-1 cells. From the 18 cytokines tested, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-1 (IL-1), IL-6, and macrophage inflammatory protein 1-alpha, only IL-4, IL-6, and IL-12 were markedly increased. No cytokine expression was detected on the membrane incubated with serum from naïve animals (negative control).
