mATGL and mCGI-58 are active when expressed in bacteria. mATGL and mCGI-58 were expressed in COS-7 cells and E. coli. Cellular lysates were used in the TG hydrolase assay with [³H]triolein as substrate. For activation of mATGL, E. coli lysates containing mATGL were combined with E. coli lysates containing mCGI-58 (A) or COS-7 lysates containing mCGI-58 (B). In C, mATGL COS-7 lysates were combined with mCGI-58 E. coli lysates. Data are mean ± S.D. and represent three independent experiments.
