L-cells were incubated with DChol-MβCD complex (20 μg/ml medium) for the indicated times as described in Methods. Cells were then fractionated to isolate plasma membranes, which were in turn resolved into cholesterol-rich and -poor microdomain enriched fractions by affinity chromatography, lipids were extracted, and DChol and cholesterol were quantitated as described in Methods. Values represent mean ± SEM of two experiments.
