(a) The conflict detect task: Participants are asked to render simple conflict or nonconflict judgments regarding aircraft pairs converging toward one another. Of interest is the amount of time taken to safely and correctly render a decision. (b) On this basic task, there is no evidence to support the experience-based sparing hypothesis.
