Cells were stained for surface CD36 and analyzed by flow cytometry. The dark gray shaded histogram indicates macrophages incubated with the appropriate isotype-matched antibody control. Histogram plots (left) show data from a representative experiment. For at least three independent experiments, the geometric means of CD36 levels were normalized to medium alone and pooled (right). None of the treatments induced a significant change in CD36 levels as analyzed by one-way ANOVA.
