For clade 8 to 2 ratios, expression data from the ‘Clade effect’ analysis was used to generate the heatmap in R (‘gplots’ package version 2.3.2) that was then fitted to a graphic representation of the genetic organization of the LEE island, adopted from [62]. Color red indicates increased expression in clade 8.
