At the time of the surveys, Kabo was the first concession in the Congo Basin to have been awarded Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification in May 2006 (Tropical Forest Trust, 2006. At the time of the surveys there were some anti-poaching patrols along the northern border of the NNNP/southern sector of Mokabi as part of the NNNP anti-poaching program.

Much of this unit is contiguous with the LTCR and gains some benefits from community management and anti-poaching interventions in LTCR. Correspondingly, the communities in LTCR also visit the Bailly for livelihoods activities, although they are not resident in the Bailly.
