A group of five mice was studied at each time point, for each condition. The lesions were very similar between the different animals in a same group (PI: post-infection). A group of three mice was studied for the measurement of the surface of inflammatory cell infiltrates in tissue sections (morphometric analysis, 22 to 40 microscopic fields covering an entire lung section for each animal).
