Activity of Catharanthus roseus S-methyltransferase 1 (CrSMT1) with sulfhydryl compounds and structurally related substances with hydroxyl groups. The per cent values were normalized to the dithiothreitol (DTT) activity, where 100% = 223 μkat kg−1. <5% = close to detection limit; these values correspond to <1% when normalized to the best substrate (benzene thiol).
