A biomimetic remineralization scheme that has been adopted for remineralization of poorly resin-infiltrated hybrid layers created in permanent dentin. This remineralization scheme utilizes two biomimetic analogs of dentin noncollagenous proteins for: 1) sequestration of amorphous calcium phosphate nanoprecursors; and 2) acting as templates for guiding the deposition of apatite crystallites within (intrafibrillar remineralization) and around the collagen fibrils (intrafibrillar remineralization).
