Dose–response effects of NCI-172033 on fatty acid and mycolic acid biosynthesis in M. smegmatis (a) and M. tuberculosis (b). The inhibitory effect on the incorporation of [14C]acetate was assayed by labelling the individual cultures in the presence of increasing concentrations of NCI-172033 and inhibitory concentrations of isoniazid and cerulenin.
