Detergent screening of DsdX via FSEC. DsdX was solubilized in (A) DM and (B) DDM and analyzed by fluorescence-detection size exclusion chromatography (FSEC). For the sake of comparison, the fluorescence traces were normalized against the highest intensity of the particular trace, giving a y-axis scale of 0 to 1. The traces in green were obtained just after solubilization and traces in orange were obtained 48 h post solubilization. When DsdX was solubilized in DM, the protein remained stable and monodisperse over the 48-h period, whereas DsdX in DDM became polydisperse over the 48-h period.
