The metal dependent gluconolactonase activity of SMP30 is compared for Zn2+ (solid squares), Mn2+ (triangles), Mg2+ (open squares), and Ca2+ (circles) bound enzyme. The gluconolactonase assay was performed with saturating gluconolactone (10 mM) with enzyme that had been metal depleted, then incubated with varying concentrations of the indicated divalent cations.
