Activated Rap1A stimulates the phosphorylation of RPS6 in an activation-dependent manner through mTORC1. A, Ins-1 cells were transduced with adenovirus expressing the indicated proteins and then serum- and glucose-starved into quiescence. The cells were then lysed, and equal amounts of protein were analyzed by immunoblotting for phosphorylated RPS6. The figure is representative of four independent experiments. B, rat pancreatic islets were transduced with adenovirus expressing the indicated proteins and then treated with or without rapamycin.
