Effect of time of salmeterol ± dexamethasone addition on IL-6 and IL-8 release. BEAS-2B cells were either left untreated (naïve) or were incubated with salmeterol (0.1 µM) in the absence or presence of dexamethasone (1 µM) added at various times (-4 to +4 h) in relation to IL-1β (1 ng·mL⁻¹) plus histamine (100 µM) (I + H) stimulus (added at time 0). Cells were also left not stimulated (NS) or stimulated with IL-1β (1 ng·mL⁻¹) alone. Cells were harvested 6 h post-stimulation, and the supernatants were analysed by elisa for IL-6 and IL-8 release.
