There is no evidence that transgenic GAP-43 is located within astroglial cells. The astrocytic marker glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) reveals widespread labeling throughout the hippocampus of both G-Phos and WT mice (a) but does not appear to be colocalized with the GAP-43 transgenic protein (b).
