Enzyme activity of and effects of aromatic amino acids on petunia CMs. Recombinant protein was assayed for enzymatic activity in 50 mM KPO4 buffer pH 7.6 with 0.5 mM chorismic acid (CA) as a substrate and 50 uM phenylalanine (Phe), tyrosine (Tyr), and tryptophan (Trp) as allosteric effectors.
