Repressive chromatin composition along the H19/Igf2 imprinted domain. Repressive globular domain histone modification H3K79me3 (A) and the control histone tail modification H3K9me3 (B) localized to the paternal allele at the H19 ICR and H19 promoter sequences. H3K9me3 but not H3K79me3 distinguished the maternal allele at the Igf2 regions. No allele-specific chromatin differences existed at −8 kb upstream of the H19 promoter.
