F. tularensis ΔpyrF mutants are uracil auxotrophs and resistant to FOA. LVS strains were spread onto CDM with or without uracil (left) or on CHAB with or without FOA (right). The abbreviation “comp” refers to the complementing construct, pF8pyrFfull2, and “vector” designates the empty shuttle plasmid, pFNLTP8.
