Membrane potentials were recorded without current injection. A, Rat islet β-cells were perfused with solution containing 11.1 mmol/l glucose and were then challenged with 200 uM diazoxide (Diaz) in the absence or presence of 50 uM ZD7288 (ZD) followed by perfusion of 300 uM Tolbutamide (Tolb). B, Bar graph shows the normalized changes of mean membrane potentials (to Δ1 induced by Diazoxide), Δ2 is the excessive change induced by ZD7288 at the presence of diazoxide (n=6). Data shown are mean ± SEM, * p < 0.05 by paired t test.
