Direct comparison between the end groups (i. e., children and adults). The direct comparison between children and adults confirmed many of the qualitative findings shown in Figure 3. Frontal connectivity with the thalamus increases with age, and Temporal connectivity with the thalamus weakens with age. Differences in connectivity between children and adults with premotor/motor and somatosensory cortex were also revealed with the direct comparisons, while the occipical/parietal ROI showed very little difference between the groups.
