Transformations between possible types of coordination for mononuclear cadmium(II)-cysteine [Cd(HCys)(Cys)]- (bd) and [Cd(Cys)2]2- (e) complexes. The species c - e with CdS2N(N/O) coordination may exist in comparable amount in solution A1 (pH 7.5), prepared by dissolving the solid Cd(HCys)2·H2O compound. Structures (a) are two of the possible structures for this compound (Ref. 33), with the coordinated COO- groups from cysteine ligands.
