(b) Primary eigenvectors were used to generate streamline renderings in a LV wedge preparation (approximate region indicated by dashed rectangle) to allow a qualitative assessment of tissue anisotropy in the model. Top panel shows streamlines from an intra-cardiac viewpoint, bottom panel from an extra-cardial viewpoint. Note that streamlines here serve to illustrate 3D local orientation of myocardial cells only, and do not suggest the existence of myofibres in the heart.
