A. C57BL/6 (c57) retina immunostained with antibodies against the vesicular glutamate transporter 3 (VGluT3) reveals stratification of putative glutamatergic amacrine cells in the middle of the IPL. B. In the rd10 retina, VGluT3-positive amacrine cells retain normal stratification in the middle of the IPL. C. In the c57 retina, antibodies against the 65kDa isoform of glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD-65) label 3 distinct strata containing the terminals of GABAergic amacrine cells.
