Effect of peptides containing the full N-terminal helix (apoCI1–30) and full C-terminal helix (apoCI35–57) on the LPS-induced TNFα response in vivo. LPS (25 µg/kg) incubated (30 min at 37°C) without (white circles) or with (black circles) a 5-fold molar excess of apoCI1–57 (A), or a 60-fold molar excess of apoCI1–30 (black squares) or apoCI35–57 (white squares) (B), were injected intravenously into C57Bl/6 mice. At the indicated time points, blood samples were taken and TNFα levels were determined in plasma by ELISA. Values are means ± SEM (n = 6). Statistical differences were assessed compared with LPS alone. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01.
