Zinc deficiency increases NF-κB DNA-binding activity in vivo in the lung following CLP. DNA-binding activity of the transcriptional factor NF-κB p65 was quantified in mouse lung tissue obtained from adult male C57BL/6 mice placed on zinc-modified diets at 6 and 24 h following CLP. Values (means ± SD) were normalized according to cellular protein content.
