Figure 1

CD temperature profile for aqueous Ac-GSP and GSP peptide (200 μM, 50 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.4 contain 0.1 M sodium perchlorate) measured using the molar ellipticity at 222 nm (θ222). The continuous line corresponding to fitting of the two-state model using the equation47, θ222 = (θH − θC)/( 1+Keq ) + θC; θH and θC are the baseline ellipticities for helix and coil; the equilibrium contant, Keq = exp (−ΔG/RT) is related to enthalpy, entropy, and heat capacity changes via ΔG = ΔH + ΔCp ( T −Tm ) − T[ΔS + ΔCp ln (T/Tm)]. The inset shows the far UV CD spectrum measured at 20 °C.
