Each micromelody consists of seven notes (each 200 ms in length; ISI of 150 ms between each note not illustrated), with the pitch of the middle note always at 250 Hz (the training frequency). The intervals between notes (in double-headed, dashed arrows) were always less than 100 cents (or a semitone).
