Detection of the Turing bifurcation in the Schnakenberg model described by Eq. 9. The critical value dc ∼ 10 is well identified by looking at the abrupt change of the indicators. For both determinism (A) and entropy (B), the saturation values D, E are reached after a transient. The insets in (A) show the asymptotic patterns of the variable u: For d < dc u is constant, for d ≳ dc a spatial transient is observed (as reported in ref. 29), and the fully developed Turing pattern is observed for d > 12.
