Left: Representative current traces of OmpA isolated from outer membranes of E. coli JM109 cells (M-OmpA), purified by chromatography on Sephacryl 300, reconstituted into C8E4 micelles, and incorporated into planar lipid bilayers of DPhPC at room temperature between aqueous solutions of 1M KCl in 20 mM Hepes, pH 7.4.
