The IC50 values are concentrations of carboxylated lignins that result in 50% reduction in level of HSV-1 entry. IC50 and HC values were obtained through non-linear regression analysis of viral entry data in the presence and absence of carboxylated lignins (see ‘Experimental Methods’).
