The rate constant (k) for each condition was calculated by using a nonlinear least squares fitting equation (5 data points at 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 h in vitro; every 40 min up to 12 h in silico) of % wound closure (W = 100(1 − ekt)), where W is % wound closure and t is the time. The t1/2 was derived from t1/2 = ln 2/k.
