The CXCR4 antagonist, AMD3100 potentiates imatinib-induced cell death in BV173 and primary CML cell-MSC co-cultures: 5x10⁴ primary CML (A and B) or BV173 (C) cells were cultured in 48-well plates alone or in the presence of a MSC monolayer. After 48 h, imatinib was added at different concentrations. Where indicated, AMD3100 (5 μg/mL) was added after the first 2 h of imatinib treatment. Apoptosis was quantified after a further 48 h incubation by annexin-V and propidium iodide staining. Histograms represent the mean of three independent experiments.
