Curing of [PSI+] by guanidine inactivation of Hsp104. Cells grown in YPAD were diluted into similar medium containing 3 mM guanidine hydrochloride and grown continuously for roughly 12 generations. Aliquots of cells were removed periodically to determine the proportion of [PSI+] cells as described in the legend for Fig. 1.
