A 52-years-old patient at 25-months follow-up after AOSF for an odontoid type II fracture. Transoral a–p and lateral radiographs did not show clear radiographic criteria for odontoid non-union. Same day CT scans with coronal and sagittal reformations of axial CT scans revealed odontoid non-union and a halo surrounding the screws’ shaft. Notably, the patient had excellent functional outcome and no pain suggesting a tight, fibrous union
