A) Comparison of the histocompatibility MHCI locus between human and mouse. B) Scheme of mouse UbD Promoter. The size of the cloned UbD promoter is 4.2 Kb. Using Tfsitescan software, we identified different consensus sequences involved in the expression of UbD: p53 down regulating UbD expression 28, 29, RRE (Retinoid Responsive Elements) have been found to be involved in this down regulation 30, and TAT HIV sequence has been found to be involved in the up regulation of UbD in the kidney 52. One ISRE consensus sequence was found in the promoter at 3.5 Kb upstream from the starting point. C) Comparison of the UbD ISRE, ISG15 ISRE and the consensus ISRE is shown 43, 44.
