Tumor growth curve of control and DNRII cells in nude mice. Exponentially growing control and DNRII cells were inoculated subcutaneously in both sides of the rear flank of five-week-old female athymic nude mice at 2.0 × 106 per inoculum. The tumor size was measured with a caliper in two dimensions twice a week after the growth of tumors was observed. Tumor volumes were calculated with the equation V = (L ×W2) × 0.5, where L is length and W is width of a tumor. Values are mean ± SEM of 12 or 10 tumors formed by control and DNRII cells, respectively.
