RBS is the ribosome binding site, and the first three codons of lecB are translated. Sequences similar to −35 and −10 consensus sequences of AlgU- and σ70-dependent promoters are indicated, and the lux box is a potential binding sequence for quorum-sensing regulatory proteins LasR and/or RhlR.
