(C and D) Immunostaining of retina sections of 3-week-old LRP5 heterozygous and homozygous knockout mice. Retinal vessels are stained with anti-CD31 antibody (green) and cell nuclei are labeled by DAPI (blue). The distribution of CD31-stained vessels appears normal in the heterozygous mutant retina (C) while fewer CD31-stained retinal vessels appear in the outer plexiform layer of the homozygous mutant retina (D).
