Note the prominent cytoplasmic and slight nuclear expression of both subunits in control cells. Following exposure to acid, bile salts, or acidified bile salts, there was strong nuclear localization of p50 and p65. DAPI staining demonstrates the total number of cell nuclei in the same field.
