Left: Events must fall within a region that is designed to exclude subcellular debris and platelets. Middle: Events must fall within a region that accommodates mature erythrocytes and reticulocytes but excludes leukocytes based on their intense SYTO 13 fluorescence signal. Right: Events must fall within a region that excludes aggregates as well as cells that are coincident at the laser-stream intersect.
