On day 0, sham-clipped and two kidney-one clip (2K-1C) rats received bilateral injection with plasmids bearing constructs for β-galactosidase, wild type nNOS or dominant negative mutant nNOS in 250 nL artificial CSF. The groups are sham-clipped, β galactosidase (•, n = 8); sham-clipped, wild type nNOS (▲, n = 5); sham-clipped, dominant negative nNOS (■, n = 7); 2K-1C, β-galactosidase (○, n = 5), 2K-1C, wild type nNOS (△, n = 5); and dominant negative nNOS (□, n = 9).
